The year has only just begun but style never stops. The capital rocks into sartorial action today with the return of London Collections: Men – a three day celebration of men’s fashion which is already a highlight of the international menswear calendar. It’s only the second event by the London Collections, following the first back in June 2012, yet it’s attracting style’s premier tastemakers wanting to showcase the slickest brands and finest emerging talents from across the world – all in London.
It’s an exciting start to the year we’re sure you’ll agree. This successful British menswear platform will shine the style spotlight on the autumn/winter 2013 range, giving you a glimpse of the lines, patterns or cuts you might be wearing later this year.
As with many things the second time round, the next three days are looking to be even better than the first event. The fashion committee is more star-studded than the last, with artist Tracy Emin joining leading British actors – and fellow style icons – Tom Hiddleston and Douglas Booth. It doesn’t stop there as singer Tinie Tempah, model David Gandy and comedian David Walliams take their seats alongside a host of fashion-industry experts. Opinions and comments are going to be very interesting indeed for those with a taste for style.
So who will be showing off their wares this week? Well the line-up is massive: Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen, Alfred Dunhill, Burberry, Mr Porter, E. Tautz and up-and-coming Chinese designer Xander Zhou are just some of the names on the list. However, expect to see all the usual suspects on show. All eyes will be on London as talent from across the globe struts its stuff. We think the stage is rather fitting for one of the most international cities in the world.
It’s fair to say that the Elysium team is very excited about the possibilities from the next three days. This isn’t your usual start to the week – venues like the Topman and BFC Show Spaces, along with The Hospital Club will be buzzing with activity and anticipation. We’ll be sure to keep you, the discerning gent, updated with the latest dapper lines heading for your wardrobe.
