This week saw Elysium Magazine visit the Bread & Butter Show in Berlin. It’s the fashion hotbed for stylish brands launching new lines for AW 2013 and SS 2014 and coincides with Berlin Fashion Week during the same period. Set in the old Berlin-Tempelhof Airport building, it offered the unique experience of flitting in and out of fashion brands whilst navigating from one sartorial hanger to another.

For the discerning gent this show was all about slick styling for formal wear and bold impressions for more casual wear. Elysium Magazine runs through the most prominent brands to catch our discerning eye.

The Dapper Look

Salvatore Piccolo Napoli

Italian tailor Salvatore Piccolo offered an array of shirt and blazer styles with its sophisticated colonial styling from southern Italy. This blazer ticks all the boxes for dapper style while the vibrant colours of the shirts, ties and pocket squares combined for the perfect contrast.

JOOP!

The German label showcased some bold colour combinations at the show for its SS 2014 range. Pastels played a major role with the summer wear but it was the aqua-marine inspired shoes that really stole the show.

Lagerfeld

Always a brand to utilise modern styling, this new suit showed all the typical characteristics of Lagerfeld design. Slick lines and a tailored shape gave this bold suit real impact.

Urban Wear

Gant

The US brand can always be counted on to bring a splash of summer style to the party and the SS 2014 range encompassed plenty of soft pastels for the preppy look once again. It’s perfect for the discerning gent craving the smart look on the beach.

Barbour International Menswear

Staying true to the biker heritage of the 1960’s, the menswear range was heavily influenced by the iconic Steve McQueen – one of the true discerning gent’s of his day. The bright colours of the t-shirts looked very cool.

Adidas

Never a brand to shy away from the bold, the latest range of Adidas men’s footwear looks set to carry on the trend of trainers in a myriad of bright eye-catching colours. Best foot forward now.
