Unless you’ve been totally cut off from civilisation over the last day or so, you’ll have noticed excitement is in the air. The reason: the return of Game of Thrones for a forth series that promises action a-plenty as the fates and fortunes of Daenerys Targaryen et al play out in spring 2014.

The internet has been a buzz of anticipation since the airing of the latest trailer to showcase the action and fans try to predict what will happen. Things pick up from season three, and one thing is for sure – things look suitably ominous for all. As viewers of the series will know, no one is safe from an untimely death.

Daenerys, played by Emilia Clarke, with her dragons growing is size and stature looks to have world domination on her mind as she scowls in the new trailer: “They have a choice, they can live in my new world or die in their old one.”

The question remains: does cowardly King Joffrey Baratheon, played by Jack Gleeson, finally get his comeuppance? Meanwhile the scheming Tyrion Lannister – played by Peter Dinklage – perhaps in a sign of things to come in the series, has the last word in the trailer as he says defiantly: “If you want justice, you’ve come to the wrong place.”
