Back in December 2015, a man by the name of Frank Sinatra would have celebrated his 100th birthday. Sadly, Ol’ Blue Eyes is with us no more but that doesn’t mean his milestone birthday cannot be celebrated. That’s why Elysium Magazine’s recommendation for the discerning gent’s drinks cabinet this month is the aptly named Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Century.

One hundred years is quite some time but one of the key things to be noted about this now legendary friendship between Sinatra and Jack Daniel’s is its longevity. To mark the occasion, Jack Daniel’s did the one thing they could: create just 100 barrels of Sinatra Century of course. Furthermore, each barrel is individually numbered. Each is a year in celebration of the great singer with a penchant for Tennessee whisky.

To house such a divine whisky creation, Jack Daniel’s comes complete in a tailor made, lacquered carry case that resembles one of the grand pianos Frank famously played upon. That’s not all, a previously unreleased recording of Frank performing live at the Sands sits alongside the bottle embedded in a stylish tie clip as well as a book filled with stories, songs and cocktails.

The whisky itself, a robust 100 proof and matured in grooved oak barrels that creates the unique amber liquid. Smooth on the palate, the discerning gent will enjoy hints of butterscotch, cinnamon and brown sugar when sipping this tipple followed by a finish of ripe fruit and charred barrel spice.

Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Century is 45% ABV and comes in one litre limited editions bottles. Available from The Whisky Shop and select retailers, RRP £400.
