Even though it may not feel like it just yet, the seasons are changing, take our word for it. As winter hands over to spring, so the darker spirits pass the baton over to lighter tipples (relax, you can have a whisky anytime). It’s for this reason that Elysium Magazine introduces to the drinks cabinet of the discerning gent Bulldog Gin.

The first thing immediately apparent is the bold black gloss bottle, slick contours and spiked collar that encases the gin. Whether a nod to the classic British bulldog canine or simply designed with slick black and white styling in mind, it’s certainly a bottle that wants to stick out from the crowd. It’ll definitely hold its own amongst the discerning drinker’s growing collection.

Of the gin itself, it’s produced in the world’s oldest continuous gin distillery. Starting as a triple distilled neutral grain spirit made with British wheat and water, this blank canvas is then ‘painted’ with the addition of 12 select exotic botanicals for the forth distillation to create this balanced premium London dry gin.

The result is a distinctive gin with layers of flavour. On the nose the discerning gent is hit with lemon citrus notes with hits of coriander and lavender to produce floral bouquet of freshness. On the palate there’s notes of warm spice and liquorice and the floral undertones continue from the lotus and white poppy. The perfect serve? A classic G&T with cucumber.

Bulldog Gin is at 40% ABV and available in 70cl bottles from Ocado.com, RRP £22.00
