There are a few absolute constants in any James Bond film and these ingredients are key to the making of a thrilling 007 outing. The first is the Bond girls (obviously), second the villains, third the Bond gadgetry, fourth the glamorous Bond locations around the world and fifth is the Bond cars. One cannot live without the others and in SPECTRE these are all abundant in equal measure. Focusing on the latter, the Bond cars rev up the action and provide the high octane pursuits that generally follow 007 wherever he goes.

Given SPECTRE has a match up in ever department in the elements mentioned, Elysium Magazine directs the discerning gents’ attention to the face-off between two super cars duelling it out for road supremacy – the Aston Martin DB10 and the Jaguar C-X75. In the battle between hero, James Bond, and villain, Mr Hinx, these two motors play a pivotal role in the outcome. Let’s take a closer look at each super-charged beast of roadworthy perfection.

Aston Martin DB10

Bond has been driving an Aston Martin for more than 50 years – since 1954’s Goldfinger – it’s one of those things synonymous with the British super sleuth. Over the years 007 has enjoyed the privilege of driving some of the best Aston Martins in existence – each with its own unique array of armoury options. The DB10 is arguably his finest yet, especially given that only ten will ever be made. It’s the most exclusive Aston Martin ever made.

On first look this is a vision of automotive beauty, the sleek contours and shaping of the body in high-sheen metallic silver – a subtle reminder of the bullets fired from Bond’s gun. Under the hood of this road beast lies a 560BPH capable of 0-60 MPH in a shade over four seconds. This is serious speed. Add to this the 4.7 litre V8 engine and slick interior – 007 has one hell of a car.

Jaguar C-X75

With every Ying there has to be a Yang of equal measure and in the Jaguar C-X75 Bond’s villain certainly has the muscle car needed to keep pace. On first look the C-X75 Has the looks to inspire awe and fear in one vision, this car oozes ‘Bad Ass’ through every fuel injection and exhaust pumped out. It just looks very naughty.

Under the hood the C-X75 pushes out an aggressive 860BHP capable of 0-60 MPH in less than three seconds. Yes that’s fast. Yes that’s slightly faster than Bond’s BD10 and it is capable of more than 200 MPH. Should Bond be worried, maybe so. Add to the blistering speed the fact that all this power is produced from an petrol-electric hybrid engine which produces the fearsome growl – this is serious super car power right here.

So there you have it – an epic battle between two extremely powerful and slick looking vehicles pitting the skills of the drivers against the might of the engines. Bond is about many things, but nothing gets the pulses racing than the thrill of a high speed chase. Over to Bond and Mr Hinx to deliver.
