Elysium looks to 2014 with hope of another great year for movies. There is so much on the horizon in the New Year. Last week saw the trailer release of Edge of Tomorrow, another Sci-Fi movie set in the midst of destruction on Earth – Elysium Magazine looks at what we can expect.

 

Tom Cruise stars in Edge of Tomorrow as a soldier reliving the same day of a war with aliens, trying to figure out a way to win. Emily Blunt is a soldier in a similar situation.

 

But the story won’t be familiar to just Groundhog Day fans: it’s based on the Japanese novel All You Need Is Kill, by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Bill Paxton and Jeremy Piven also star.

 

We are hoping Edge of Tomorrow will bring out much from the Japanese novel, movies tend to lose the direction of novels when being translated to the big screen. One thing is for sure – we can expect a twist.

 

 

Edge of Tomorrow is due in cinemas from June 2014.
