It’s not often that Elysium comes across a bottle that we’d rather leave out on display rather than put back into the drinks cabinet. Well, one of these times is when we cast our eyes on a highly visual bottle design, so eye-catching in fact that you’d not want to hide it away. Gents, let us introduce you to ABSOLUT London.

Designed by London creative and visionary Jamie Hewlett, famed for his skills with The Gorillaz artwork, this bottle is a unique celebration of London’s style and fashion pioneers over the past two centuries. Set against a London backdrop, the bottle design introduces key characters from the past that have influenced and shaped London’s present fashion and style scene.

The seven characters encapsulate the city’s diverse heritage, spanning the ages from Dickensian and 18th Century Dandy, through to Pinstripe gent, 60’s chick, SKA, Punk and 80’s Casual.

“It was an honour to be approached by ABSOLUT to collaborate on this project. London has always been and continues to be a cultural hub which inspires creativity so it deserves to be celebrated,” said Jamie Hewlett when asked about his latest masterpiece.

The tipple inside is just as impressive as the vessel, with ABSOLUT’s famed clean and crisp vodka ensuring a great base for cocktails, or simply on the rocks.

With the Diamond Jubilee and Olympics to come, 2012 is an iconic year for the capital. Elysium thinks this bottle captures the creative essence of what has made London one of the most influential and culturally diverse cities in the world. The discerning gent tips his hat in homage to both its style and substance.
