Naming any product after a bonafide legend is a pretty big call but this week Elysium Magazine brings a spirit to the discerning gent’s attention that has the substance to back up the big name on its shoulders. The legend in question is Frank Sinatra and this week we introduce to the drinks cabinet of the discerning gent Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select Whiskey.

At this point you may be asking why the renowned Tennessee Whiskey has the gall to name a tipple after the legendary singer. The answer is simple; Frank was a true ambassador for the brand before the job even became the commercial property it is today.

A look through the grainy video clips of the great man on-stage will clearly show a glass, or indeed a bottle, of the good stuff was never far from reach. To add further significance to the link, he was even buried with a bottle of Jack Daniel’s when he sadly passed away. That’s the kind of eternal affinity we are talking about here.

So what of the new whiskey, Sinatra Select? It’s an ultra premium whiskey full of character. Dark amber in appearance, its hue is achieved by exposing the classic No.7 Jack Daniel’s that we all know to extra layers of toasted wood on the inside of the barrels – aptly named the ‘Sinatra barrels’.

The result is a smooth whiskey with a bold oak flavour and vanilla finish. It’s bottled at 90 proof to ensure tenacity to the very last drop. Sinatra Select is a worthy tribute by Jack Daniel’s, something the discerning drinker is sure to enjoy as part of his drinks cabinet. Best enjoyed straight up on the rocks just like the great man Frank Sinatra used to love. You might even be tempted to make that a double Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select.

Sinatra Select is 45% ABV and available in 1 litre bottles from The Whisky Exchange or Selfridges, RRP £150.
