The Wolfpack are back and this time, for the final installment in the hangover series, they are heading back to where it all began…. Las Vegas!

This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

In an effort to get an understanding of the story for the final movie, we studied the trailers carefully. We know Alan’s dad has just died and he’s off his meds, which causes him to dig his father’s grave in the cemetery himself. His friends intervene and encourage him to take time out at a medical facility called New Horizons, and while en route, the Wolf Pack is run off the road by Goodman, who demands they track down Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong), who somehow managed to steal $21 million from him.

hangover III on Elysium Magazine

Queue madness and the usual Hangover antics! Chow is clearly still causing mayhem but it’s the kind we can enjoy! With each installment of the series the movies tend to get much darker, Hangover III appears to follow this pattern.  Phillips, who has directed all three films in the series and co-wrote the second and third, told Collider that he intentionally took the final film in a more serious direction.

“All my movies, as I get the ability to do it, they tend to go a little darker,” Phillips mused. “Funnily enough, there’s a line in this scene that we shot yesterday, which I turned to Dan Goldberg, my producing partner, and I said, ‘That’s the tagline for the movie’.

“Which is when Chow turns and he goes [imitating Chow], ‘And then, everything went black’. Everything Went Black is also the title of a Black Flag album, but it’s also a great tagline for this movie in a weird way. Because ‘everything went black’ makes you think, ‘Oh, is it another blackout?’ No, no, no. It just got very dark.”

Whether or not this is really the final movie in the series will certainly be dependent on the success it bring in from the box office. One thing is for sure, Elysium Magazine will be waiting for its release in cinemas on 24 May 2013. Check out the trailer and let us know whether you are still excited to see the wolfpack return.
