The Watch is a new sci-fi comedy directed by Akiva Schaffer and written by Jared Stern, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. It stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn,Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade.

 

 

Evan (Stiller), Bob (Vaughn), Franklin (Hill), and Jamarcus (Ayoade), are a group of neighbors who form a suburban neighborhood watch group and use it as a front to get away from their families – drink, play pool and talk about the ladies. However, when they accidentally uncover an alien plot that threatens the world, they are forced into action. Bring on the crazy!

 

Evan is the neighborhood know it all and starts a group to find the killer of his friend and store security guard. Bring on Bob, Franklin and Jamarcus to help Evan cause some mayhem!

 

The Watch manage to blow up cows, stacks of hay and dance around with dead aliens! Surely this is a mix perfect for a great comedy.

 

Richard Ayoade makes his first hollywood screen appearance and from the looks of the trailer he does not disappoint. British comedians don’t have a great track record when making it in America but Ayoade seems to hold his own.

 

 

The Watch promised to be a great mix of comedy with entertaining explosions and aliens. Elysium Magazine will surely be visiting the local cinema when the movie is officially released on 24 August 2012 in the UK. In the meantime check out the trailer to keep you entertained.
